Description
Nos 20 to 22 on Market Place have origins dating back to the 18th century. The building is two storeys high, constructed from coursed stone with a pantile roof. The left gable end is coped and features a kneeler. There are four brick chimney stacks. The façade includes three windows, one rectangular bay that extends above the eaves, and one hung sash window with glazing bars. On the ground floor, there is a door with a stone lintel, two modern 'Georgian' bow windows, and a modern door beneath the lintel. Additionally, there are two late 19th-century shop fronts. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 15 and 16, 16A, 17 to 23, and 33 to 38, along with St George's House, and it forms a cohesive architectural group with Nos 40 to 48, of which several are noted as buildings of local interest.
