Description
No. 10 Market Place is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall and is rendered. It features rusticated quoins at one corner and has a pantile roof with three brick stacks. The gable ends are coped and include kneelers. The façade has two windows, which are hung sashes with glazing bars, situated above a modern shop front. To the left, there is another window, also a hung sash with glazing bars, located under a lintel above a flat-arched carriage entry. This building is part of a group that includes the premises occupied by York County Savings Bank, Nos. 2 and 3, White Swan Hotel and outbuildings, and Nos. 4 to 7, along with The Bay Horse Public House, Nos. 9 to 11, and No. 14, with Nos. 1, 9, and 14 being of local interest.
