Description
No. 7 Frenchgate is an 18th-century building that stands three storeys tall and features a rough-rendered exterior. The roof is made of Welsh slate and has remnants of three brick stacks. The building has three irregularly placed windows, one of which is small. On the first floor, there are four windows with modern glazing. The ground floor is also rendered and has two small modern windows on the left side. The entrance consists of a six-panel door, with two glass panels, set within a plain stone surround that has moulded jambs. The doorway is flanked by wooden pilasters and topped with a continuous cornice. To the right of the door is a shop window with modern glazing and a modern glass door. The building features kneelers. Nos. 1 to 27 (odd) and Nos. 31 to 43 (odd) form a group.
