Description
The Yorkshire Bank premises, occupied by D C Clark, is a building dated 1819, as indicated on the rainwater head. It is located on the north side of Market Place and consists of three storeys with a cement-rendered exterior. The facade features three windows with plain reveals and stone cills, lacking glazing bars. On the ground floor, there are two mid-19th century shop windows with stone surrounds and a cornice supported by brackets. The entrance includes a six-panel door set in a stone doorway, topped by a glazed rectangular fanlight. The building is topped with a Welsh slate roof. This property, along with Nos 1 to 5 Frenchgate, forms a group of buildings of architectural significance.
