Description
Castle Tavern is an early 19th-century building located on the north side of Market Place. It stands three storeys tall and is finished in painted roughcast with rusticated quoins. The roof is tiled and features one brick stack. A band runs along the first floor. The building has one window on the upper floors, which is a hung sash with glazing bars set in a plain stone surround. The ground floor includes a modern three-light sash window and a three-panel entrance door. There is a flat yard entrance associated with the premises of No. 5. Castle Tavern is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 5 and the premises occupied by D C Clark.
