Description

Number 9 Market Place is an early 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall and is constructed of red brick. It features rusticated chamfered quoins and a heavy modillion cornice. The roof is covered with old slate and includes four dormers. The building has four windows, each with moulded stone sills and frames that have small keystones, and the windows are hung sashes with glazing bars. There is a modern shop front added to the building. Number 9 is part of a group that includes numbers 7 to 18 and the Kings Head Hotel.
