Description
No 10 Market Place, which also includes No 1 King Street, is a mid-18th century building. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of painted brick. The front is plain, featuring a stone-capped parapet and rusticated quoins. There is one window with a moulded stone surround, and a hung sash with glazing bars. The first floor has a slightly canted sash bay. The ground floor has been modernized for a shop. The elevation facing King Street includes a long staircase window and retains one early 19th century doorway with thin pilasters. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 7 to 18 and the Kings Head Hotel.
