Description
17 and 18 Market Place are mid-18th century buildings that continue the building line, although they are slightly lower than their neighbors. They are three storeys tall and constructed of red brick, featuring moulded guttering and an eaves cornice. The roof is made of stone slate. The buildings have five windows with plain stone lintels and no glazing bars. There is a passage entry between Nos 16 and 17, which has a moulded four-centred 18th-century stone archway inscribed 'John Taylor Cutler' and moulded six-panel doors. The shop fronts are from the late 19th century and modern. Nos 7 to 18, along with the Kings Head Hotel, form a group.
