Description

The Cross is a stone obelisk with an octagonal shape, constructed from ashlar. It features a plinth with alternating rectangular and round-headed niches, the round-headed ones adorned with small pediments on brackets. Above this, there is a fluted frieze and a moulded cornice. The obelisk is topped with a granite ball finial. It was erected in 1771. The Cross is part of a group with the listed buildings in Market Place and Trinity Church Square.
