Description

Rose Cottage Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century, with an early 17th-century encasement. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and ashlar, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and two bays, featuring quoins. On the right side, there is a board door set in a chamfered surround. The windows are casements with double-chamfered surrounds, originally designed as mullioned windows, with three lights, except for the left first-floor window, which has two lights. The left gable has stone coping. Inside, there is a stone staircase and two cruck trusses, some of which are pinned with original sheep bones.
