Description

The Old Bridge is an 18th-century bridge and causeway located in Little Smeaton, North Yorkshire. It is constructed of ashlar stone and spans approximately a quarter mile in length. The bridge features two segmental arches, which are supported by voussoirs and hoodmoulds, and are flanked by pilasters. There are decorative bands above the arches and parapets with chamfered coping. These bands and parapets extend onto the causeways. The bridge has round end piers, and notably, half of it is situated within the parish of Great Smeaton.
