MAISON DIEU (South Side) No 16

GV II

Cottage, C18, potentially earlier.

MATERIALS: uncoursed rubble, with a pantile and stone slate roof.

EXTERIOR: is of two storeys and two bays, with the front door to the far right (west) and a single ground floor window to the centre of the elevation, both with monolithic lintels. This window has the proportions of a three or four-light mullioned window, but is now fitted with a two-over-two sash window flanked by narrow one-over-one sidelights. To the left of this is a small blocked fire window. The two windows on the first floor are central to their bays. These are two-over-two horned sashes. The roof is pantiled above two courses of stone slates to the eaves. There is a tall brick end stack to the left, abutting the neighbouring property.

Nos 12 to 16 (even) form a group.
