Description
No. 45 Castlegate is a house built in the late 18th century, likely raised later, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared stone, with painted and rendered sections above the first-floor windows, and features a painted rendered plinth. The roof is made of pantiles and has brick stacks at both ends. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a two-window front. The front door, which is from the 20th century, has an overlight and is situated between four-pane sash windows, all of which have painted wedge lintels. On the first floor, there are four-pane sashes, and the attic features two raking dormers with two-light casements. This house is included for its group value.
