Description

Dromonby Farmhouse is probably of the late 18th century, likely involving a partial or sequential rebuilding of a longhouse. It is constructed of coursed, herringbone-tooled sandstone, with a pantiled roof featuring a stone ridge, copings, kneelers, and stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with two narrow and one wide bays. The right-hand part of the building contains a Victorian four-panel door with an overlight, set within a pilastered wooden surround. Sixteen-pane sashes have replaced earlier windows, all set under extended lintels with long keystones. On the left return, two Yorkshire sashes are visible in the attic. Lean-to extensions are present at the rear.
