Description
School Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with an addition made around 1980. It is constructed of pinkish brick in an irregular Flemish bond and has a pantile roof. The building is two storeys high and originally consists of two bays, with a bay added to the left side in 1980. The original house features a central 20th-century door with six fielded panels and a shallow overlight above. The windows are 20-pane sashes set in flush wood architraves, and both the door and ground-floor windows have gauged red-brick flat arches above them. There is a first-floor band made up of three stepped courses, and the eaves are tabled and dentilled. The end stacks are tabled, with the right stack heightened and the left stack rebuilt. The added bay, which is separated by a narrow full-height recess, matches the original style and includes similar windows from around 1980.
