Description

Blue Stone Cottage is a house dating from the second half of the 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of mottled pink brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a pantile roof. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and has three bays. A plinth runs along the base. The central door is a 20th-century six-panel design set within a 20th-century hooded wooden architrave. The flanking windows on each floor are small-pane casements. The ground-floor windows are set within elliptical arches formed with header bricks. Above the door is a four-pane side-sliding sash window. The eaves are tabled with brick-on-side dentils. The raised brick verges have tumbled-in brickwork, and the end stacks are tabled. The left return side of the house features small-pane side-sliding sash windows, and one to the attic.
