Description

The garden railings at the front of Laurence House date from the mid-19th century. They consist of a brick wall topped with ashlar coping, which supports iron railings. The low wall features saddle-back sectioned coping, while the railings are designed with rods that have bulbous bases leading to spear finials. The standards of the railings are topped with palmette finials. There is a central gate that matches this style, with gate posts that have bulbous acanthus bases and tops, as well as ball finials. These railings are included for their group value.
