Description
This milestone, located approximately 60 metres south-east of Ings Farm, is likely from the early 19th century. It is made of sandstone and features a painted cast-iron plaque attached to it. The milestone is a round-headed monolith that stands about one metre high, with an inset rectangular panel set within a raised border. The panel is inscribed with the distances to Scarborough (14 miles) and Malton (8 miles).
