Description
The boundary wall with piers, gates, and railings on the west side of Littlethorpe House dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed from limestone, ashlar, and wrought iron. The wall stretches approximately 90 metres in total, featuring a central set of two-leaved gates flanked by a low wall with railings and end piers. To the left, there is a 30-metre length that turns the corner and connects to the north-west corner of the house. The gates and railings are made of square-section bars topped with a rail and pointed finials, standing about 1.5 metres high. The railings are integrated into a low wall made of two courses of squared limestone with rounded coping. The piers beside the gates and railings are rusticated ashlar with a moulded capstone, reaching a height of approximately 2 metres. The side wall is built of coursed squared limestone with flat coping, sloping up from the left pier and again near the house.
