Description

Hewick Bridge over the River Ure is a bridge built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar and features six segmental arches, with the central four arches having recessed voussoirs. On each side, there are three central piers with pointed cutwaters that rise up as pilasters to the level of the parapet, while the two outer piers have pilasters only. There is a band at road level with chamfered coping. The bridge has been widened on the upstream side.
