Description

Manor House is a house dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is shown on the Ordnance Survey map as Littlethorpe Manor. The house has a rendered exterior and a stone slate roof.

The south front has a central two-storey range with three first-floor windows. A recessed bay is on the left, and a taller two-bay block projects to the right. The entrance is to the right of the central block and features a six-panel door with a fanlight, set within a keyed arch flanked by Ionic columns supporting an open dentilled pediment, likely made of wood. Sixteen-pane sash windows are set in flush wood architraves with keyed lintels throughout the front. Gutter brackets are present. A ridge stack is located at the right end of the central block, and a central eaves stack is on the right range, which has a hipped roof.

The rear of the house is a courtyard flanked by ranges to the left and right, with sash windows. A long range, running along the left return, fronts the road with similar sash windows. The right return was not visible during a resurvey, but is likely to be an important garden front to the hipped-roof range.

The interior contains two fluted Ionic columns supporting a staircase, as recorded in an estate agent's sales catalogue from 1985.
