Description

Hamwood Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone featuring herring-bone tooling. The roof is a renewed pantile with raised verges that have ashlar coping and shaped kneelers. There are rebuilt brick stacks located at the center and the right end of the building. The cottage has two storeys and two bays, with a central 20th-century door. The windows are 20th-century casements, and those on the ground floor have keystones. The cottage is included in the listing partly for its group value context.
