8/83 Sundial approximately 20 metres north of Braisty Woods Farmhouse

Sundial. Dated 1706. Gritstone. Height approximately 1.2 metres. Circular base, fluted shaft with moulding to base and cap. Bronze plate inscribed '1706 Mors Venit' and a sun face; the gnomon intact. Formerly stood in an orchard on the south side of the house. The shaft fluting is similar to that on the architraves to front door and parlour cupboards of the main range of the house (qv).
