Description

Pelican Cottage is a house from the mid-18th century, although it has earlier origins. It is constructed from limestone rubble laid in courses and features a pantile roof. The house has a direct entry on the left side and an outshut at the rear that connects with Oldfields. The return elevation has two storeys and two first-floor windows. It has a boarded door and replacement two-light Yorkshire sash windows throughout, along with a skylight. There is a stack at the right end of the building. Pelican Cottage was formerly part of a hall and cross wing house, with part of Oldfields serving as the hall.
