Description

This thatched barn, located 100 metres north of Tang House in Birstwith, is a field barn dating from the mid-18th century, with a late 18th-century addition. It is constructed of dressed stone with ashlar dressings and features a thatched roof. The barn is single storey and has flush quoins and breathers.

The south front includes an off-centre doorway set in a flush stone surround, topped by a massive lintel, leading to a plank door. To the left, there is a building break, followed by an extension that also has a plank door in a flush stone surround. The gable walls on the left and right sides are blank, while the north rear wall features an off-centre building break.
