Description

Yarlsber Farmhouse and House is a farmhouse and house dating from the late 18th century and early 19th century, with origins in the early 18th century and some 20th-century alterations. The building is pebbledashed with stone dressings and has a stone slate roof.

The farmhouse, which was originally designed with a central staircase plan, has three storeys and three bays. It features a central entrance in a mid-20th-century porch with a door from around 1970. There are two ground floor windows and three windows on both the first and second floors, all with plain surrounds and 20th-century casements. The eaves have shaped modillions, and there is a projecting stack on the left-hand gable and a ridge stack on the right-hand side, which is now a party wall with Yarlsber House.

The rear of the farmhouse includes a blocked entrance with a chamfered surround and a decorated lintel inscribed with "17 R 07 11." Yarlsber House, which is an early 19th-century cross-wing, is attached to the former right-hand gable of the farmhouse. It also has three storeys and three bays, with a central entrance that features moulded imposts and a four-panel door, of which the upper two panels are glazed. The windows on the ground floor and the first and second floors have plain surrounds and are a mix of 20th-century casements and sashes with glazing bars. The eaves have shaped modillions and kneelers, and there is a ridge stack at the gable end. The interior of the building is not accessible.
