Description

INGLETON MAIN STREET SD 6873-6973 (east side) 14/11 1 and 2 Bank Hall 20.2.58 GV II

Formerly one house, now 2, c1860 with mid-Cl8 origins. Pebbledash, painted stone dressings, stone slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Central entrance has chamfered surround, dentilled cornice and embattled parapet, dropped finials, 2-leaf doors with margine pane glazing. 2 ground floor and 3 upper floor windows have chamfered surrounds and hoodmoulds; sashes to upper floor, sashes without glazing bars to ground floor. Panel between floors to left of entrance inscribed: G D I 1765 Gable end and right of centre ridge stacks. Number one has lower 2-storey one bay addition containing ground floor entrance, plain surround with paterae below lintel, plank door, crude slate hood, and similar hood to upper floor window which is otherwise identical to sash windows of main building.
