Description
Bridge End Guest House is likely a former millowner's house built around 1840. It features slobbered rubble brought to course, stone dressings, and a stone slate roof. The building has a central staircase plan and stands three storeys tall with three bays. The entrance, located to the right of centre, has a moulded surround, a hood supported by brackets, a six-panel door, and a rectangular fanlight. There is a second entrance on the left with a plain surround and another six-panel door. Each storey has three windows with plain surrounds and sashes; the windows on the second floor have nine panes. A cill band is present on the first floor, and the building has chamfered quoins and paired eaves modillions. The right-hand gable end and a stack to the left of centre are also notable features. A rear-staircase window rises the full height of the house and consists of a 60-pane sash and fixed light. Inside, there are dog-leg stairs with an open string, stick balusters, and a ramped and wreathed handrail. The doors are six-panel with fluted architraves and paterae.
