Description
Field House is a mid-18th century farmhouse located on Laundry Road in Ingleton. The building features a pebbledash exterior with painted stone dressings and a slate roof. It has a central staircase plan and is oriented with its rear facing the street. The entrance front is two storeys tall and double fronted, with the entrance positioned to the right of centre, featuring a plain surround on a square base and a glazed door from around 1970. There are two windows on each storey, all of which are 2-light flat faced mullioned windows with moulded surrounds, and all have been heightened with 20th century casements. The roof includes square modillions, shaped kneelers, gable coping, and gable end ridge stacks.
At the rear, there was a former entrance with roll moulded imposts, which has been converted into a window with sashes. A central staircase window runs the full height of the house and includes four transoms, sashes, and fixed lights with 6 and 9 panes. Additionally, there is a right-hand ground floor window that is a 3-light flat faced mullioned window with casements and fixed lights.
