Description
Church Farmhouse is a mid-19th century farmhouse built for the Yarborough Estate. It is constructed from yellow brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan with a central entrance hall and a two-room wing at the rear. It stands two storeys high and features three symmetrical bays. The exterior includes a chamfered plinth and a pilastered doorcase with a cornice and hood. The entrance has a panelled door beneath an overlight with margin lights in a panelled reveal. The windows are unequal 15-pane sashes set in reveals with sills and painted cambered brick arches, along with a two-course band at the first floor. The first-floor windows are 12-pane sashes, and the eaves board is plain. The roof is hipped, and there are two stacks at the rear topped with ashlar cornices. Inside, the farmhouse features a geometric staircase with a wreathed handrail and plain balusters, as well as panelled window shutters and doors within architraves. The building is included for its group value.
