Description
Nos 200 and 201 on High Street are two houses from the late 18th century that have been incorporated into a department store, with significant later alterations. The building is rendered and features a 20th-century pantile roof. It stands three storeys tall with a two-by-two bay arrangement. The ground floor has a modern store entrance and shop windows. On the first floor, there are sash windows with glazing bars and flush exposed sash boxes, along with projecting ashlar sills and flat arches. The second floor windows are similar to those on the first floor but consist of nine panes that are unequally hung. The building is topped with a dentil cornice, shaped kneelers, and ashlar coping, and there is a rebuilt stack at the left end.
