Description
The Kings Arms Hotel, now a shop, is located at 206 High Street in Northallerton. This building dates from the early to mid-18th century and has undergone later alterations. It features a rendered exterior and a 20th-century pantile roof. The structure has three storeys and four bays, with rusticated quoins.
On the ground floor, there is a modern shop front. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars and flush exposed sash boxes, along with projecting ashlar sills and keystones. The second floor contains smaller, half-size six-pane sash windows, also with flush exposed sash boxes, projecting ashlar sills, and keystones. The building is finished with an eaves band, shaped kneelers, and ashlar coping. There are chimney stacks located between the first and second bays and at the right end of the building.
