Description

Oulston Lodge is a lodge to Newburgh Park, built in the mid to late 18th century and altered since. It features ashlar sandstone, with some areas rendered, and has a Westmorland slate roof. The building is single storey with three bays, where the central bay, made of ashlar, projects forward in a semicircular bow. There is an ashlar plinth with a chamfered offset at the sill level. The outer bays are rendered and each has a blocked window. The central bay includes a 15-pane sash window on each side and is topped with a cornice. The hipped roof has a central stack, and the left and right returns each have a matching window. At the rear, there are 20th-century brick extensions that are not of special interest. The lodge is included for its group value.
