Description

The gates and gate piers located on the east side of the main road opposite the Old Garden are likely from the early 18th century. They feature ashlar sandstone piers and wrought-iron gates. The piers have square bases and consist of five bands that are pulvinated on all sides. The capitals are plain, topped with bow-shaped capstones. The paired gates are designed with square bars that have spear finials, along with intermediate lower bars that feature inverted-V finials.
