Description

12-15 Prospect Place is a building dating from the 19th century, with later 19th-century additions. It comprises three storeys and semi-basements, with two windows on each side. The roof is covered in Welsh slate and features bracketed gutters. The exterior is constructed of grit stone ashlar, accentuated by horizontal floor bands. Original recessed sash windows are present, some with glazing bars and aprons. Splayed bay windows are integrated into the design, with cornices extending through the ground and first floors.

The doorcases at numbers 12 and 13 feature console-bracketed cornices; number 12’s doorway has a pediment, while number 13’s is a round arch with a radial fanlight, both with panelled doors. Numbers 14 and 15 have well-preserved wooden doorcases with pilasters supporting an entablature, incorporating triglyphs. Their arched doorways have panelled reveals, radial fanlights, and panelled doors. The entrances are approached by steps with wrought iron railings.

Numbers 12 to 15 form a notable group.
