Description

24 and 26 James Street is a building from the 19th century that features two storeys and a dormer. It has a slated fishtail mansard roof and is constructed of stucco with rusticated quoins. The building includes a pedimented dormer window and round-arched windows on the first floor, which have keys. There is a modern shopfront at the ground level. A notable feature is the cast iron shopping arcade, which has fluted columns, a glazed roof, and a wrought iron pediment over the entrance. The shopping arcade is a significant aspect of the building's listing.
