Description

The Jubilee Memorial is a Gothic-style structure built in 1887, presented to Harrogate by Richard Ellis, the Mayor, and designed by H.E. Bown. The memorial features a statue of Queen Victoria situated beneath a stone canopy. This canopy, carved by Webber, includes quatrefoil arched openings topped with a pinnacle. The base is made of granite and has three bay recesses on the sides, which are adorned with crenellated coping and heraldic lions rampant at the corners.
