Description
No 18 is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is built of orange-brown brick, rendered above the first-floor windows, with orange brick window dressings and a magnesian limestone ashlar plinth and quoins. The roof is covered with pantiles, and there are gault brick stacks. The house has two storeys and five bays.
There are three steps leading to the entrance located in the second bay, which features a six-panel door beneath a radial fanlight with glazing bars. This is set within a panelled surround and a doorcase supported by fluted Doric columns, which hold up a frieze and hood. The windows throughout are four-pane sashes with quoined jambs, flat arches made of gauged brick, and tripartite ashlar keystones and cills. The building has a dentilled eaves band and stacks at both ends and the ridge, as well as an 18th-century rainwater head. The interior has not been inspected.
