Description
A terrace of four houses, dating from the late 19th century, is located on The Green in Lindal In Furness. The houses are constructed of limestone and slate rubble, with dressings in red sandstone and a slate roof. They are two storeys high, with a symmetrical arrangement of windows: two windows to the first floor on the left, a single window in the centre, another single window, and two windows on the right. Large quoins are present. The window surrounds are chamfered and quoined, framing four-panel doors with plain overlights; number 11 has a partially glazed door. The windows themselves are timber sashes with six panes or four panes. Projecting sills, quoined reveals, and chamfered lintels are characteristic details. Doors to the right of number 9 and number 10 are positioned on the right side of the houses, while the doors for numbers 11 and 12 are on the left. A moulded wooden cornice forms a gutter across the top. Quoined stacks are located at each end and along the ridge at the party walls.
