Description
Nos 24 and 26 on Lowther Street are houses dating from around 1782, situated on a sloping site and featuring later additions and alterations. They are constructed from snecked rubble on a limestone block plinth and have a modillioned eaves cornice. The roof is not visible. The buildings are symmetrical, standing three storeys high with cellars and comprising three bays. There are two recessed panelled doors positioned side by side, accessed by steps through a 20th-century semicircular-headed stucco entrance arch. Each floor has sash windows with glazing bars on either side, while the cellar windows feature segmental heads. A single sash window on each upper floor above the door has been blocked. The houses are included for their group value.
