Description
30 Lowther Street is a house dating from 1782, situated on a sloping site. The initials J.F., representing James Fell, a surgeon, along with a pentagram, are carved on the keystone of the door surround. The building is constructed of coursed, squared rubble with quoins and sits on a limestone block plinth. It features an eaves cornice and a graduated slate roof with stone chimneys at each end. The house is symmetrical, comprising three storeys with cellars and five bays. The central entrance has panelled double doors and a semicircular fanlight, flanked by two sash windows on either side, with five sash windows on each of the upper floors. There are grilles covering the cellar openings located at the far left and right.
