Description
No. 34 Lowther Street is a house located on a sloping corner site, built around 1788 for Daniel Gardner. The structure is made of limestone blocks and features ground and first-floor bands, along with an eaves cornice. It has hipped roofs covered with graduated slate and stone chimneys at the rear. The house stands three storeys tall with cellars and consists of three bays. The entrance includes a recessed, part-glazed door with a semicircular fanlight, framed in a Gibbs surround, accessed by stone steps. To the right of the entrance are two sash windows, while there are three sash windows on each of the upper floors. The cellar windows are now blocked. Additionally, there is a full-height bay on the south return that is semicircular in plan and has curved sashes. A lower wing extends to the rear.
