Description

This is a mid-18th century farmhouse accompanied by a barn and stable. The house is constructed of red sandstone, while the barn and stable are of mixed sandstone rubble. They all share a graduated greenslate roof, with brick chimney stacks. The main house is two storeys high and three bays wide, with a two-bay stable to its right and a long barn extending to its left, all under a single roof. The house has a central 20th-century door set within a painted stone surround, beneath a weathered date panel. There are a left-hand window of two lights and a right-hand window of three lights, both with flat stone mullions. Later sash windows are set within painted stone surrounds. The stable has a central plank door under a sandstone lintel, and two blocked loft doorways, the left of which has been converted into a casement window. The barn incorporates plank doors in stone surrounds, framing a segmental-arched cart entrance.
