Description

The Gatehouse is a toll-house that has been converted into a private dwelling, dating from the early 19th century. It is built from coursed, squared rubble, with hammer-dressed quoins featuring margins. The building has a graduated stone flag roof and corniced stone end chimneys. The symmetrical front is two stories high and has three bays, with a central plank door set in a hammer-dressed surround and sash windows. There is a single sash window on the ground floor returns and an inserted window on each floor at the rear of the south wall.
