Description
This boundary post, dated 1825, is located approximately 200 yards north of the Punch Bowl Public House in Natland. It is made of cast iron and has a half-hexagonal shape with fluted faces and a domed top, painted in black and white. The south side is marked with 'PH OF HEVER SHAM' and the north side with 'PH OF KENDAL'. This post stands on the boundary between Stainton and Natland Parishes and is part of a series of similar milestones and boundary stones along the old Turnpike Road.
