Description
The Former Kingsleys of Cartmel is a house and shop, likely built in the 18th century. It features roughcast stone walls and a slate roof, standing two storeys high with three bays. The building has a top frieze and cornice. The windows are modern small-paned top-hung casements, which have replaced the original sash windows; there are 2-light casements in the first bay on the first floor and the third bay. The entrance includes a narrow overlight and a half-glazed door, with a passageway to the left. The building has a gable end and a cross-axial stack. The left side of the building, which adjoins the Royal Oak Public House, has an external stair leading to a window that was formerly an entrance. This property is included for its group value.
