Description
West View Farmhouse, dating from 1776, features an adjoining byre that was built in 1820. The farmhouse is constructed from coursed, squared rubble with quoins and has a graduated slate roof topped with a stone end chimney, along with coping and kneelers at the north end. Its symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay front includes a central panelled door with a fanlight, set within a doorcase that has a hood supported by consoles. The windows are sash style. The low area walls are made of coursed, squared rubble with flat copings, and the wrought-iron railings have pointed standards, while the cast-iron posts are topped with urn finials. The adjoining byre is also built from coursed rubble with quoins and has a graduated stone flagged roof, featuring re-used coping and a kneeler at the south end. It includes two doors with segmental heads on the right side and access to the hay-loft on the first floor.
