Description
Mid Widdale is a farmhouse and byre built under one roof, dated 1780. The structure is made of coursed rubble with a stone slate roof and stands two storeys high, featuring three bays for the house. The central entrance is a board door set within an ashlar surround, with "WJ 1780" inscribed on the lintel.
On the ground floor to the left, there is a flat-faced mullion window with two uneven lights in a chamfered surround. The other windows are four-pane casements, also in chamfered stone surrounds. The building has stone gutter brackets and end stacks.
To the right is the byre, which has three openings on the first floor. The right side has quoins, and there are doorways in the center on each floor. On the ground floor, there is a moulded fire-window surround to the left, and to the right, the lintel of a two-light chamfered mullion window features ovolo moulding above a smaller window. On the first floor, there is a small window opening to the left and a blocked window to the right.
