Description

A late 18th-century farmhouse with an adjoining barn, altered in the 19th century. The farmhouse is constructed of roughcast over sandstone rubble with a graduated greenslate roof and sandstone ashlar chimney stacks. It comprises two storeys and three bays, with a lower, right-angled barn attached. The main entrance features a studded plank door set within a 19th-century red sandstone surround. Double-hung windows with glazing bars are set in red sandstone surrounds, with the windows on the right side being smaller. A 19th-century stair extension and outshut are located to the rear. The barn has a segmental-arched doorway on its rear left side, a smaller doorway on the right, a casement window, and small square openings in the eaves. Inscriptions and a date, "H.H. 1844," indicating Howard’s work, are visible above the entrance.
