Description

No. 8 Market Place is a shop with accommodation above, likely built in the early to mid 19th century, with possible elements from the 18th century. The building features painted render with painted stone or render dressings and a slate roof. It has three storeys and two bays, with projecting painted quoins and a timber cornice gutter supported by three groups of three brackets. The ground floor has a mid-20th century shop front. The first-floor windows are sashed without glazing bars, framed by architraves with triangular pediment-like mouldings above. The second-floor windows are glazing-bar sashes set in narrow painted surrounds with projecting sills. There are chimneys on both the left and right sides of the building.
